Planning and Gantt view
Planning gives you a read-only timeline of dated projects, milestones, and work. Use it to review deadlines and decide what to schedule next. Move dates by editing the original record, not by dragging the timeline.
Choose the time window
- Open Planning.
- Choose a Window of 30, 90, or 180 days.
- Optionally filter by Client, Phase, State, or Show standalone tickets.
- Choose Apply.
Previous and Next move the window. Today returns to the current planning window. These controls do not change your saved dates.
Make records appear
| Record | Dates needed | Where to set them |
|---|---|---|
| Project | Start Date and Target Due Date | Open the project and choose Edit Project. |
| Milestone | Its target date | Open the project's Milestones section and edit the milestone. |
| Work item | Due Date | Open the item and choose Edit Work Item. |
The dates must fall in, or overlap, the selected window. Standalone work is shown when Show standalone tickets is enabled.
Read the timeline
Project spans show their scheduled start-to-finish period. Milestones mark target dates, and work items show when individual tasks are due. Use the section links to jump to Projects, Milestones, Due work, or Tickets.
Open the linked record to review its details or change its schedule. Return to Planning to see the updated dates.
If something is missing
Check the Unscheduled count, the record's dates, and the current filters. Try a wider window or return to Today. Archived records and records outside your access may not appear in the default view.
For lists of overdue work and time totals, open Reports.
