Time tracking and reports

Track time on a work item so it can be included in project and client reports. Running timers and completed time entries are different: completed entries contribute to reported totals.

Start and stop a timer

  1. Open the work item you are working on.
  2. Find the Time panel. On a narrow screen, it appears below the main work sections.
  3. Choose Start Timer.
  4. When you finish or pause, return to the item and choose Stop Timer.

Stop your running timer before starting another. Leaving the page is not the same as stopping a timer.

Add time manually

  1. In the Time panel, open Log time manually.
  2. Enter Start Time and End Time. Include the correct date if the work crossed midnight.
  3. Add an optional note describing the work.
  4. Choose Log Time.

Duration is calculated from the start and end times and rounded up to the nearest minute. Check the saved entry. If you forgot to stop a timer, use Edit on an entry you are allowed to change and correct its times rather than adding a duplicate entry.

Use Reports

Open Reports, choose an optional client or project filter, and choose Apply. The report sections cover:

  • Overdue: open work whose due date has passed.
  • Status: work grouped by its current status.
  • Project time: completed time on work linked to each project.
  • Client time: completed time grouped by client.
  • Revisions: revision workload and status.
  • Intake: incoming request activity.

Standalone tickets have no project, so their time can contribute to client totals without appearing under a project. If a number looks wrong, check the filters, whether the time entry has an end time, and which client/project the work item belongs to.

Reports respect your workspace and record access. Owners and admins have broader workspace visibility; collaborators see the records available to them.
