A file will not upload

Check the upload area first: revision supporting files, regular attachments, and pasted images have different limits.

Check format and size

Upload area Maximum per file Supported formats
Supporting file on an individual public revision 1 MB JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, PDF
Work-item or subtask attachment; general request attachment 10 MB JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, PDF, TXT, MD, CSV, ZIP, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, JSON, LOG
Image pasted into a supported editor 5 MB JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP

The file must actually be the supported type; renaming an extension does not convert it. Resize or compress a large image, or export a smaller PDF. For a revision, a cropped screenshot of the relevant area is often clearer than a full-screen image.

Check workspace access and storage

An owner can open Account → Storage & Data Export to review the shared 5 GB allowance. Uploads may also be blocked when a work item is archived or the workspace is read-only or suspended.

See read-only records or billing access before retrying.

Retry safely

  1. Read the error beside the field or at the top of the page.
  2. Check whether the file already appeared before uploading it again.
  3. If an image is still uploading, wait for it to finish before saving the comment or description.
  4. If the form expired, reopen it and reselect the file. Browsers cannot refill file inputs automatically.

If it still fails, contact support with the upload area, file extension, size, and exact error. Do not send sensitive file contents unless support specifically asks for them through an appropriate channel.
